Wedding extravaganza-ing

Sorry it took so long for me to post pictures. No internet today. Here are oh-so-many though! Saturday was David and Judith's wedding here in town. It was fantabulous, as you can see.
Introductions, starting from top left: Jenny and Katie, me and Jaime (GET A BLOG!), Justin and Jeremy. Row 2: David and Judith, Jeremy and me, then me, Ryan and Holly. Row 3: Mrs. Judith Heister, Justin and Jeremy again, and now me and Katie.
Notice the slight smudginess of some of the faces. Thumb print on the lens. Wish I had noticed that earlier. Here are more pictures...!

I couldn't get any real good clear pics of the bride and groom's first dance. But I tried. Awwwwwwww.
Aaaand then they let us on the dance floor. I believe you're witnessing "My Humps." I'm singing. Thank goodness someone randomly picked up my camera to capture this moment. So don't pull on my hand, boy. You ain't my man, boy (hence the finger wave). I'm just tryin' to dance, boy....
Ha ha ha ha ha. I can't stop laughing right now.
This is when David threw the garter-thingy. Of course, the boys let it hit the floor (no one move too fast, now!) and gave it to the very small child. Typical. :) Posted by Picasa
The reception was at the Albert Pike Hotel downtown, which was absolutely beeeeeeautiful! We ate and danced the whole time.
Here's a close-up of the cake. It was delish with an amaretto filling. Ummm yes please. I don't even like wedding cake that much, and it was fantastic!
And then there's the groom's cake, which is hilarious. Yup, that's a brain you're seeing there. Judith surprised David because he's a neuro-doctor. With a chocolate filling. Mmmmm mmmm good! Posted by Picasa

President Bush uses Little Richard as translator

Annie showed this to me yesterday. Hilarious. And an excellent idea for future political addresses.

The thunder rolls...

Little Rock had an awesome storm on Sunday night. The sky was pitch black and it really came down. Jeremy and I went to the grocery store (smart, I know) right when it started. Yup, soaked. The power went out at my house, but luckily he still had power so I could watch "The Amazing Race." Whew.

Weekend review

Ok, here we go. Friday we went to the IMAX theater and watched a movie on black holes. Purty sweet. Then went to Blue and Leah's.
Saturday Jeremy and I went to Melissa and Greg's new house pretty much all afternoon. It's absolutely gorgeous! Waiting on a housewarming party... Congrats to them!
Saturday night we went to David and Judith's stock the bar party, bringing our own homebrew with custom made labels. As you can see, there is a "his" and "hers" wine. Notice the duck tape/paper sack combo on his. Very classy.
Awesome spread at the party- lots of fun!
After the part-ay, we went to the Fountain to celebrate the birth of Katie.
Awww... we've missed each other! These girls have just been too busy (myself included)! Not pictured, but also in attendance: Kristen and Jamie. Poor Jeremy was slightly outnumbered by the ladies.  Posted by Picasa

Happy berfday, Kate!

A very happy birthday to Miss Katie, who doesn't check my blog, but I love her anyway and wanted to pay homage. She's still a very youthful 24. Sigh... lucky. Sorry bout the old school pic from last Fat Tuesday. Have a great day, Kate! Much love. Posted by Picasa

Yup. Things are good, I'd say.

I stole this picture from Chandle's blog because I love it. Good things goin' on right now:
1. Volleyball season has begun. Which means I get to wear my coaching shirt about twice a week. Which means I don't have to think in the morning. Oh, how I miss my Mount skirt.
2. Chandle got to stand oh-so-very-close to Clinton. LUCKY! Go look at the picture.

3. GT is going very well. We started our archaeology unit. It's a lot of fun for me.
4. Lots and lots of birthdays coming up!
5. Weddings galore! A little over a week till David and Judiths wedding #2 and Melissa and Greg's the weekend after that!
6. Fall time... so nice.
7. Jeremy and I made our second batch of wine last night- Barolo extravaganza! And PS, it's delicious.
8. "Survivor" starts tonight with some pretty controversial competition. Ahhh... there's just nothing quite like exploiting racial stereotypes! Should be pretty awesome, right?

I could do many, many more, but I must work now. Love to all!

Discuss amongst yourselves. Here's a topic:

No camera cord today. Will post pics of my FABULOUS weekend ASAP. In the meantime, read this list of the top 50 teen movies of all time. Thoughts? I know Kat is angry about "10 Things I Hate About You" not making an appearance. Me too- come on! Shakespeare meets teen movie?? Brilliant. And I know Jeremy will be happy to see "Stand and Deliver," (I know, I know- I should show it to my class, ha ha!). What do you think? What's your top 5??

Call us Weideker

Last night was very exciting because our "Merriweather Park" (so dubbed because of the park across the street from him-trademark it, yo) wine is finally ready! Jeremy and I have been working on this batch of shiraz for a while now, and it was ready to be bottled last night. This is him siphoning from the glass jug to the plastic bucket. I think his tongue is out cause he just got some in his mouth. Ha, ha.
Might as well go ahead and have a taste ourselves, eh? It was delicious. Very oak-y and fantastic. I gotta say I'm pretty proud. Skills, baby.
Then came the actual bottling process, which was very exciting. The corking part was fabulous.
Aaaaand, we're done! We bottled 25 last night, and we have a batch of Barolo coming up next week. Click here to learn about that type of wine. Should be fabulous. Hooray for us!! Posted by Picasa

Laboring on Labor Day

What does one do when there are tree limbs that need to be cut? Call someone? A professional? I think not. What you need to do is harness youself in to said tree and jump off the deck.
After the leap, you're going to swing into a bit of brush, probably. But it's no big deal. Just get your bearings and ignore the scratches. It's all in the glorious name of yardwork. Beautification. Yup.
Now you can begin your ascent up said tree. Its life is nearly over. Posted by Picasa

pt. 2

Now you're ready to begin! Go ahead and tie a saw to a rope and pull it up to yourself. Then you're ready to start choppin'. Those branches don't stand a chance.
You might want to enlist some menfolk to help you out when the branches start coming down. Lest they fall on the deck.
You did it!! Looks so much better now.
Good job, baby! I wasn't nervous about it at all. You did beautimous work. :)

The playin' part of Labor Day

Well, the weekend wasn't ALL work. Saturday afternoon we went to the river. Sniff, sniff- our time with the ol' dirty is drawing to a close.... but not yet! This is Jeremy on the jet ski and Stuart on the knee board.
... and another sweet action shot.
Sunday, we went to the last Traveler's game at Ray Winder field. There were something like 8,000 people there, and we even had to sit in the grass. It was a gorgeous day, and we got a little crispy.
Yeah, we're pretty cute.  Posted by Picasa
