Last night was very exciting because our "Merriweather Park" (so dubbed because of the park across the street from him-trademark it, yo) wine is finally ready! Jeremy and I have been working on this batch of shiraz for a while now, and it was ready to be bottled last night. This is him siphoning from the glass jug to the plastic bucket. I think his tongue is out cause he just got some in his mouth. Ha, ha.
Might as well go ahead and have a taste ourselves, eh? It was delicious. Very oak-y and fantastic. I gotta say I'm pretty proud. Skills, baby.
Then came the actual bottling process, which was very exciting. The corking part was fabulous.
Aaaaand, we're done! We bottled 25 last night, and we have a batch of Barolo coming up next week. Click here to learn about that type of wine. Should be fabulous. Hooray for us!!

holy balls! what a great project! HAVE YOU DESIGNED SOME FABULOUS LABELS YET? you must!
He wants to take a picture of the park from his deck and make labels. Should be pretty sweet.
yes, you need your own labels.
Yum, careful though I was part of a wine making in the past and you talk about DRUNK DRUNK DRUNK!!!
haha. looks awesome, can't wait to taste!
My Dad makes wine. It's great. Mom makes the labels. She customizes them to an occasion. I have some "Congratulations!" ones, some "Happy Valentine's Day!" ones, etc. Fabulous gifts!
sweet action! can you email me to tell me where you got the kit/learned to do such a thing/how i can go about making my own wine? we've got some muscadine vines that i'd love to turn into wine next year...
Nice work kids! Save a sip for me. :)
