Whoever dressed their 4th grader child up as a suicide bomber has some serious issues, I'll tell you that much. Whoever dressed up their child as STRONG BAD, however... well that's a different story. What was your favorite costume as a child?
It's that time of year, folks. Time to decide what you'll be this year! Let's start by taking a look back. ;)

my favorite costume is from the 4th grade. i was a pirate. and i looked adorable, if i do say so myself. : ) see you a little before noon. rice rice rice. oh man i can't wait!
she-ra princess of power. age 5. with crown made of cardboard and tinfoil and some weird non-sheralike gypsy outfit. um. it wasn't the best costume EVA but daaaaaaang i loved it.
i was also a brick layer one year (my gramps was a brick layer). what little girl wants to be a brick layer?!?!?
those are the only two i really remember.
I'm actually making a She-ra costume this year, David's going to be He-man. I was a basketball goal, you put the candy in the hoop. I was also a crayon box and a kleenex box. I thought it was fun to be inanimate objects.
holy schnikes (how do you spell that, late great chris farley?) that strong bad costume is amazing and i want it. except the mask/head might be sweaty. anyway i was a clown or a witch like every other year when i was a kid. seriously. i was a gypsy once. that one was pretty cool - throw on makeup, a skirt, every piece of jewelry ever, and youre set! the only downside was it was supercold that year so i am wearing like a purple skirt with like a pink sweatshirt and sweatpants under! oh the late 80s/early 90s. so awesomely bad.
My mom made me a Little Mermaid costume one year. It was beautiful with green glitter all over the tail (which Chandle and P.J. kept stepping on to make me fall in the snow). Sisters are great.
I was most excited about being a honker (from sesame street, you know, the ones with the giant noses that honk when you hit them). It was my first store bought costume and it was so exciting.
