A bee in my bonnet

When I was a wee child, every time spring would roll around, I wanted very little else than to get a new Easter dress and to wear a dang Easter bonnet. What the heck ARE those things, anyway? Why do people wear them? When I googled for an image, I came across just as many pictures of creepy looking dogs in bonnets as creepy looking old ladies. Why in the world did I want to do that? THANKFULLY, my mother had enough sense (even though we were deep in the 80s) not to let me make this detrimental mistake. No perms either. Thank God. Thanks, mom. At least I still have my dignity.

Oh man, when I was 7 or so I got this giant white ruffled easter dress with pink ribbon all over it that I loved. To top it off I had a matching hat and white lace gloves. My mom hung onto the dress over the years and ended up making Jillian wear it one year. She cried. It was that bad!

I loved my Easter hat and gloves. I'll scan some higly embarrassing pictures when I'm at my parents in a couple weeks. The hat is a Southerneese deal. Love it on little girls.

Somewhere there is a picture of me with a lampshade easter bonnet on. Weird.
